THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

Does the Law of Attraction Work?

In this post, I offer my insight into the law of attraction. The Law of Attraction is also similar to karma (what you give out you get back), the law of reflection (our reality mirrors what we believe), and like attracts like (electromagnetism). Let me know in the comments if you know any other terms. (I’m also going to sneak in a picture of one of my oracle cards 😉.)

Everything is Energy

I’m sure you’ve heard this before, that everything is energy, a frequency, a vibration. And the energy you create is what you get back. So all you have to do to create the life you want is to create the right energy. Right?

Law of attraction, like attracts like, magnet

In theory, it makes sense, and I believe it’s how our reality works, but I also believe there are other forces at work in our lives that, at times, transcend the law of attraction. So these other forces that preclude the law of attraction are: destiny, divine timing, divine order and programming. (That last one is a weighted idea that I might write about another time!)

Does the Law of Attraction Work?

So does the law of attraction work? Well, I know I’m not the only person to work hard at creating the right mindset and positive vibes, only to find that the law of attraction refuses to work. On the surface, it appears as if we must be doing something wrong. I’ve watched enough videos and read plenty of blogs from people who claim to make the law of attraction work for them, and in the timeframe they want, too. And the general advice is that if something isn’t manifesting when we want it, it’s because of something within us not being aligned, or we’re just doing it wrong.

I both agree and disagree with these ideas.

Why doesn’t the Law of Attraction Work?

So you might ask, why doesn’t the law of attraction work for me when I’m doing everything I’m supposed to be doing? And that’s a good question. So here are a few ideas why the law of attraction might not work, even when we’re doing everything right.

Destiny

When the law of attraction doesn’t work, it’s because destiny has something better lined up, something our soul or soul group agreed to before we incarnated.

I’ve certainly experienced many times throughout my life, when some invisible force has stopped something from happening, or stopped me from doing something, and made it obvious that I was being stopped, too. During those times, I paid attention to what was being stopped, and I figured out why that might be happening. Also, when we’re children, we don’t understand the law of attraction, yet things happen to us. In my view, our childhood relates to karma from other incarnations and soul contracts we make before we incarnate, hence, destiny.

DISCOVER YOUR POTENTIAL

Divine Time

Divine timing is one of those things I get fed up with hearing from Spirit (LOL). It’s just another way of saying ‘You’re not ready’ or ‘We’re not ready’ and nothing we do or don’t do will change that. The we in ‘We’re not ready’, refers to the multitudes of beings beyond this realm that are helping to shape and create our reality, regardless of how hard we work to manifest something. So sometimes, they haven’t got something sorted yet. But that leads me to ‘time is an illusion’ which opens up a can of worms and makes my brain itch, so I won’t get into that today!

Divine Order

I think that Divine order is the biggest influence on the law of attraction. I see Divine Order as Spirit’s influence—the life force that is in everything all the time, experiencing everything in every way. Spirit is in each of us. We are Spirit. Everything is Spirit. And Spirit ultimately decides what goes.

Programming

The final reason why the law of attraction might not work is down to our programming—the way we think, feel, react and behave. Our programming determines a large part of what happens in our lives (as I said, programming is a huge subject for me, including free will, which I might speak of another time). Even when we put in the effort with the right mindset, the right feelings and the right energy, something in our programming—and our programming creates our frequencies—just isn’t in alignment with what we want to manifest.

So Why bother with the Law of Attraction?

We could all benefit from some of the law of attraction principles. In focusing on something positive, it helps keep our frequency raised, our thoughts focused and positive, and it gives us something to work towards. But if I’m being honest, I don’t use the law of attraction that much, other than to help me with a positive mindset—especially when I’m going through a rough spell. I have these moments where I plunge into the ego mind of fear and control and watch a few law of attraction videos to help me shift my perspective. But I prefer to listen to my intuition when it warns me that something isn’t ready yet or right for me, or when it tells me of something positive coming—which often comes as a vision, premonition, or an intuitive hunch.

Intuition verses LOA. . .

So when I get an idea pop into my mind for something that I want to manifest, I don’t see it as the law of attraction at work. I see this as my sixth sense tuning into the frequencies in the holographic field of our reality.

Are intuition and the law of attraction connected? Yes, I believe they are. When a person gets an idea of something they want to manifest, they’ve tuned into the holographic field with their intuition, or sixth sixth as I prefer to call it, but they haven’t realised it yet. Not all ideas come from intuition, though! Many ideas come from the ego and have attachment and expectation attached to them. And with attachment and expectation, you might as well throw the law of attraction out of the window. Doh!

Final thoughts.

While I believe we create our reality based on what we believe, I also believe our reality is influenced by other forces. But there’s no harm in focusing on positive things, as long as we let go of attachment to the outcome or when it should happen.

What do you think? I’d love to hear your opinion on this 😊
