If you’ve ever asked the universe for a sign that you’re on the right path, it’s useful to know what those signs might be. So in this post, I’ll give you ten common signs that bring a positive message.

Signs and omens are a great way to connect to your sixth sense and receive insightful messages. Have you seen my other posts on the SIXTH SENSE and SIGNS & SYMBOLISM?
WHERE DO SIGNS APPEAR?
Life can get confusing, challenging or just plain messy. Receiving an indication that you’re not heading into a dead-end or about to fall off a clifftop can be a lifesaver. So, where do signs appear? Well, signs appear anywhere and everywhere they can get our attention.
But if we aren’t very present or we don’t recognise a sign for what it is, then they’re easily missed. In my experience, important signs appear three or more times to get your attention, because it’s easy to disregard something you see only once. However, you don’t have to see a sign repeatedly for it to have meaning. After all, our external environment is a mirror of our internal world, so all of life is symbolic. And that means everything you notice externally is telling you something about yourself, like a running commentary of your life.
One thing to be aware of with signs is that they don’t have to appear in their innate form. Let’s take the white feather, for example, as it’s one of the most common positive signs you’ll see.
You don’t have to see an actual white feather on your path. But you could walk along a busy street and notice the image of a white feather on a billboard, or you glance at a shop window that has white feathers in the window display. Or maybe you turn on the radio in your vehicle and hear a song lyric that mentions a white feather. Then when you get home, you scroll through social media feed and spot a post with a white feather on it.
Do you get the idea? Signs will appear wherever and however they can get your attention.
So here’s the list of ten positive signs, with the white feather at the top—obviously!
1. WHITE FEATHER

If you believe in angels, white feathers are often associated with an angel watching over you. If you don’t believe in angels, white feathers are still a very positive sign that a passed on loved one or a spirit guide is watching over you, keeping you safe and sending you love.
I’ve seen white feathers appear in the strangest places, especially indoors. Recently, when I got home from a nature walk, a small white feather tumbled from my hair. I don’t know how long it had been there, but it was a welcome sign.
White feathers are one of the most positive signs for confirmation that everything is okay, even if it doesn’t appear that way on the surface.
Related to the white feather is:
2. WHITE DOVE

White doves are wonderful confirmation that everything is ok. White is a colour that symbolises spirit, peace, purity, truth and love, so white dove symbolism is synonymous with white feathers.
If you live in a place that doesn’t have white doves, you could see the image of a white dove or overhear someone mention a white dove. I sometimes see the letters to spell the word DOVE on vehicle registration plates. Vehicles are a great medium for receiving messages.
And also in the animal kingdom, we have:
3. STAG, REINDEER, MOOSE, ELK
I put these in the same group as they’re all related. Depending where you live in the world, you might be fortunate enough to see one of these amazing creatures in the flesh. But if not, you could see a picture of one, or hear one mentioned, or maybe you see something written.

With their symbolism, what stands out the most for me is their amazing antlers. They look like pointers showing the way, like a road map. So one of their insightful messages is that you’re going in the right direction.
Other symbolism relates to their heightened senses. These magnificent animals are always alert to even the slightest of changes in their surroundings, so they’re a powerful sign for being aware of your environment and staying alert to coming changes. The stag, reindeer, moose or elk will never lead you into danger.
If we look at the world of plants, we have the:
4. FOUR-LEAF CLOVER

If you’re fortunate enough to find one, the traditional meaning of the four leaves are love, faith, hope and luck.
A more positive sign you won’t find! And remember, you don’t have to see an actual four-leaf clover. The image of one or hearing someone mention a four-leaf clover is equally relevant. And the more it pops up, the stronger it’s message.
Next, we head up to the skies to see the:
5. STAR

Stars in the night sky are associated with navigation, so they symbolise guidance and lighting up the path ahead. Stars can show up anywhere, besides the sky, including in advertising, on packaging, in artwork, or any other media; or you could see the word ‘star’ on vehicles or buildings.
As stars connect with the sky and the heavens, they, too, symbolise spirit and our helpers from other dimensions who are always watching over us. And stars have long been associated with wishes. So the star is the most perfect sign to guide you on your journey and to remind you of the importance of wishes.
Still in the skies and closely related to the star is:
6. SUN

Just by looking up, we see the sun every day—well, if we’re lucky! That doesn’t mean we’re seeing the sun symbol every day. But it’s a wonderful reminder that without the sun, there wouldn’t be life on Earth.
So if you notice the sun symbol, either as an image or a word spoken or written, its symbolism is light, truth, victory, success, warmth, happiness and all-round positive vibes. A related sign with a similar meaning to the sun is the sunflower, which, again, can appear in various ways.
Now we’ll look at inanimate objects of the man-made world:
7. COMPASS
The purpose of a compass is to stop you from getting lost—as long as you know how to use one! A magnetic compass points to magnetic north, and if you’ve heard the phrase pointing true north, this relates to doing what’s right for you.

So compass symbolism is a strong indication that you’re heading in the right direction. A related sign to the compass is the arrow. I sometimes see arrow shaped clouds which relate to the direction you’re going.
Next, we have:
8. KEY

The key symbol can appear anywhere. We can see the word ‘key’ on vehicle registration plates, and believe it or not, I’ve found many keys while out on my walks, although I feel sorry for the people who lost their keys—which isn’t a positive sign for them!
The key is a small sign with big meaning that relates to success, having the answer, or solutions.
The key also symbolises a wish coming true as it unlocks something—imagine if you found a treasure chest but didn’t have the key! And without the key, we can’t unlock the door. And the door leads to the next chapter or something better. So the key is wonderful confirmation that we have what we need to keep moving ahead for success.
And now for a common sign that you probably see more often than you realise:
9. GREEN TRAFFIC LIGHT
I mention green traffic lights in my video on signs & symbolism, and the green traffic light is an obvious but often overlooked sign. Think of the phrase green light, and its meaning is obvious: you have the go ahead, a strong yes, and everything is flowing along.

So if you’re driving and you have several traffic light junctions on your journey, take notice if you have a succession of green lights. If you do, it means that your journey or what you’re doing at your destination will be successful. Or it could be a general message that everything is going well. If you get red lights, then the opposite is true.
And last, but by no means least, is:
10. NUMBERS
Numbers are everywhere, right in front of our faces, showing us the synchronicity in our lives. I talk about the MEANING OF NUMBERS in a previous post.
Numbers appear on clocks, watches, phones, tablets, laptops, the radio and tv, on buses, vehicle registration plates, billboards, books, magazines, in fact, all forms of media and transport. So, if you don’t notice numbers, you must walk around with your eyes closed—only joking.

But seriously, numbers are a great way to receive messages. Numbers that are personal to you, such as a loved one’s birthday, anniversary or a passing, will try to get your attention to show you that the universe has your back or that Spirit is watching over you.
SPECIFIC NUMBERS
However numbers appear, they bring an insightful message when it’s needed most. A number combination that has gained popularity in recent years is 11:11. This powerful number vibration relates to someone who is on a spiritual path of evolution, soul growth and awakening.
And if you see 22:22, which has even greater significance, the message here is that the world needs people who are original and brave, so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and be your true authentic self.
Seeing numbers that follow on in progression, such as 1234, shows that life is flowing without obstacles. And numbers that balance each other mathematically, such as 3:12, where 1 + 2 = 3, confirm that your life is balanced. The synchronicity of numbers is a huge topic that I could chat about for hours, but I won’t keep you that long today!
So before you go, I have a question for you. Are your eyes and ears open to the messages from the universe? Because if they are, seeing signs opens up your awareness and expands your sixth sense, and the more you notice, the more you realise that there’s more to life than the three-dimensional material reality in which we live. And the more signs you notice, the more appear. So stay alert, then you’ll never miss a one.
I’d love to hear about your experiences with signs and symbolism, so please leave a comment below.
