Let’s start by what your life purpose isn’t: Your life purpose isn’t something you haven’t reached yet; and it isn’t just one single event that’s going to change the world forever. The truth about your life purpose is that you’re already doing it.

Before you were born into a physical life, your soul made a contract that involved learning certain lessons, meeting certain people (or animals) and achieving certain goals, because in doing all those things, you experience life in all its glorious messiness; you grow and evolve. And that’s your life purpose. 

Your lessons can be both big and small, your connections with other souls could last for a few minutes or an entire lifetime, and your goals can take moments or many lifetimes to achieve.

In every moment of every day, you’re on a journey, not to reach a single destination but to experience a myriad of thoughts, beliefs, feelings, emotions, words, actions and deeds. 

Maybe you smiled at that stranger in the street, which brightened their miserable day and helped restore their faith in people; maybe you asked the single mum in the supermarket carpark if she needed a hand after she dropped a bag of shopping while trying to strap her toddler into the child-seat in the car; maybe you took a moment to appreciate the dewdrops glistening in the sunlight on the branches of a tree and you noticed how they looked like fairy lights; maybe you snuggled your animal companion after they’d been to the vets and you assured them that everything is going to be okay; maybe you took a few minutes, hours or even days absolutely and utterly to yourself so you could relax, destress and feel more balanced; or maybe you congratulated a loved for something they did and you told them how proud you were.

The Life Purpose is …

And while the life purpose could be reaching a big career goal, having a family or saving up enough to buy that dream home, the seemingly insignificant moments that you probably don’t even remember are the moments that make a significant difference. Because in those smallest of moments, we can learn the biggest of lessons, which is how we grow and evolve. And that’s the soul’s purpose.
